Matteo Totaro
Officina del giorno dopo
Italia
Matteo Totaro is the founder of Officina del giorno dopo, a letterpress workshop and research space established in 2017 in Monte Sant’Angelo, in the heart of the Gargano. His work moves between art, craft, and memory: every project is a dialogue between moveable type, ink, paper, and time.
Shaped by a background that weaves together literature and visual arts, his practice aims to preserve the slow, deliberate gesture of the printer as an act of cultural resistance in the digital age.
Within the Officina, historical printing presses coexist with contemporary graphic experimentation and a constant reflection on the value of printed words.
Totaro approaches typography not only as a technique, but as a language for thinking through matter.
His editions, produced in limited runs, are narrative objects in which form and content coincide, testifying to a research path that blends artisanal precision with poetic imagination.
